Da Vinci Furor

The increasing protests mounted against the movie "Da Vinci Code" is doing only one thing - making the film more intriguing and so, as a result more people are going to watch it.

Are we so religiously weak that we cant make out fact from fiction? People who read fiction dont always believe all those extraordinary situations actually exsists, or do they? Its ok for people to boycott seeing the film, but why should they prevent the rest of the crowd from watching it.

Its funny that people in India dont protest against the increasing violence, atrocities protrayed against women and the hatred spread against neighbouring countries through so called patriotic films.

Am just thinking out loud, dont want to hurt anybody's sentiments.

Hey...You had commented on my blog n thus I am here thru tht route...Got distracted with your photos. They are amazing...I love the city snaps at night...Makes me want to be there....Also, Udaipur, is that Udaipur?

Anywas, comming tho this post...I heard yesterday that Da Vinci Is not going ot be released in India and that is a Government order. I guess the reason why it is prejudiced and not realesed is because its religious and congress stands all for minority religious community, atleast a buch of us know that and so its in their interest they dont allow screening that movie to satiate that society. Maybe if there were other religious movies, it maybe banned too but I dont know any movie made in that manner.

I read the book , loved it and I guess am going to watch it too just for the thrills. Here, all the Catholics and cardinals have called for boycotting the movie so maybe a trickle of people like us would be left.

Other than fiction it also portrays a lot of paintings and intelligence in solving the code is just great. I guess I loved that more than anything.

Also, the exposion of cults like Opus Dei etc have been taken as an insult but they do practice such harsh treatements so whts the cry!!!

Your point about people being able to differenciate religion from fiction is true. Only if they recognise what God is!! :) Good post!

Thanks for stopping by Scribblez.

And thanks for appreciating my photos....i love photography and nature and so the result :)

That's not Udaipur, its Jodhpur.

Me too loved the book ....simply superb. I guess no other film has dealt with religion is such light, so lets wait and see what happens.

Anyways me going to Da Vinci Code on Friday.....hoping it will be worth the wait. My only concern - is the movie as good as the book? With most book-turned-movies, there's a disappointment with the way it unfolds.

tru ,i dont know why the protests. People who have faith should not be worried that others will think less of christians because of this story.
